The first event of the Nissan Trailseeker MTB Series is now done and dusted, and we look forward to hosting the trail runners tomorrow for the Trail Run Series. Today’s event set the bar high for the rest of the year, with a great vibe and racing conditions.
Matt Beers and Danielle Strydom dominated the race throughout the entire day and led to the win at the end. Matt was chased by Philip Buys and Wessel Botha, who were close on his wheel. The three B’s battled it out at the end with a beautiful sprint finish. Danielle Strydom made a breakaway at about 30-kilometres, where she managed to keep the pace and lead steady until the finish.
Bavaria replenished the much-needed thirst at the end of the hot day and was a hit amongst the crowds. The venue and stalls definitely created a fun family vibe and kept everyone entertained. The new Devil’s Peak beer garden with their delicious Bloedlemoen Gin and draft beers made sure there was something for each person’s taste bud. Next event on the calendar is the SA XCM Championships at Buffelsdrift.
